"Greetings, citizen! Are you interested in the Manastrel campaign? Well, you're in the right place!"

A slice-of-life fantasy roleplay group inspired by the Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, Animal Crossing, and AFK franchises,
with an added touch of exploration and discovery.-preserver is currently not available-

General Rules
Remember to be respectful. Treat everyone kindly, regardless of their background. If you have an issue with someone, please resolve it privately. Ask a mod to mediate if needed.
This group is NOT for minors. You have to be 18+ to join.
However, the group rating is PG-16. While occasional adult jokes or innuendos are acceptable, keep in mind that NSFW art, RPs and discussions are not allowed. Move such topics to the DM if necessary.
Refrain from bringing up sensitive topics and issues inside the group. We want to keep the group as fun and lighthearted as possible. They are included but limited to real-life politics, religions, and the like.
Remember to use the correct channels and refrain from spamming unrelated stuff. For example: Post all art in the respective art channels and don’t comment on someone else’s RPs in their RP threads.
Keep drama to a minimum. It's okay to occasionally vent or share frustrations, but please don’t use the space for attention-seeking or excessive emotional dumping. If you're struggling, we encourage you to reach out to a mental health professional who can offer the proper support.
Roleplay Rules
General roleplay rules apply here, including, but not limited to, no godmodding, metagaming, shipchasing, etc. If any of the terms are unfamiliar to you, you can google or ask the mods.
Please remember to separate reality from fiction. The character’s feelings and actions do not reflect what the author may feel or approve of. Even though a character may act hostile towards your own OC, this doesn’t mean the author/mun themselves dislike you. Please discuss with the author/mun if you need clarifications before jumping to conclusion.
Due to the group being international, please comment and roleplay in English. Feel free to use any other language for your private chats and roleplays, however. If you want to submit the roleplay to claim gold, it still needs to be in English (because otherwise the mods can’t check if it’s appropriate for the group or not).
Be mindful of the other author/mun’s boundaries. Please always ask them beforehand if you are unsure about it.
Be inclusive as possible. We don’t want to pressure you to interact with the whole group, but it is encouraged to make friends. After all, that’s what the roleplay group is for, right?
Art Rules
Do not trace and/or do not use AI. Do not “fix” other people's art without their permission. Referencing is allowed, please remember to credit or ask permission if necessary.
Do not post any NSFW images within the server. It's a PG-16 group.
Always ask for the author/mun’s permission before borrowing their characters to be drawn.
If you have any questions regarding your artwork (be it the rating or anything else), don’t hesitate to submit a ticket. The mods are always happy to help you.

Out of Character/OOC
• What is Mana Trail?
A slice-of-life fantasy roleplay group inspired by the Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, Animal Crossing, and AFK franchises, with an added touch of exploration and discovery! The name reflects the island at the heart of the story — Manastrel, a land brimming with mana, despite its disrupted flow, waiting to be cultivated and restored.• What is the rating of the group?
The group’s rating is PG-16. Please be advised NOT to bring any 18+ topics inside the group. You may discuss it in private with the consent of involved parties.• Do we have to speak English in the group?
Yes. Please use English for public conversations and submissions (be it chatting, commenting, role playing, captions, etc). However, you are free to use your preferred language in private.• I'm more of a writer. Do I have to be able to draw to join?
No, you don't have to be able to draw! The group’s activity will accept both art and literature submission. We will try to balance both so non-artist can still enjoy and be active! However, we will still need a visual reference for the application.• Can I commission art for my application? Can commissioned art be posted in the group?
Yes! However, only use art that you commissioned, bought, and/or have permission to use. Don’t forget to credit the artist. You can acquire gold with commissioned art submission as well.• How many members are you accepting?
We accept 25 people for the first opening, excluding the invites.• Can I join together with a friend (ride-n-die)?
Yes. Please write it in an additional note when applying later.• Can I use a character that is currently active in another RP group?
Yes, but keep in mind you are expected to socialize and build relationships in the group. As long as your character will somewhat mingle and their alternate relationships in another group would not cause stir in Mana Trail, go ahead.
Character Creation
• How many characters can I have?
Only one in the beginning! As you progress and collect enough gold, you can buy a SC Ticket and NPC Ticket, up to 2 slots each. However, this feature is locked for now and will be available in the future.• Can my character bring their (NPC) family/friends into town?

Yes. Please also state in an additional note if you want a ride or die application with the other character.• Can my character be pre-related to admin's NPC?
Yes, but please ask the respective owner beforehand. However, this doesn't guarantee your acceptance into to the group and the relationship will not grant you any benefits or advantages.• Can my character have a pet?
Not at the beginning! Pets will fall under the NPC category and will require an NPC Ticket, which can be purchased with gold later.• What's the difference between an MC, SC, and NPC?
Please refer to the table below.
Main Character (MC) | Secondary Character (SC) | Non-Playable Character (NPC) |

- High fantasy inspired by HM/RF/AFK franchises! Please keep the mood and vibe light, and dress your character according to their respective job. They are still allowed to have casual clothes outside their job.
- Full nudity is not allowed. Merfolk may wear swimwear as fisherman, and a blacksmith may wear thin layers for convenience, but please keep it appropriate (do NOT show or imply genitals, female nipples, etc).• Can my beastman be based on mythical animals? (e.g: dragons, phoenix, etc)
No. Only land mammals and legged reptiles that haven’t gone extinct yet are allowed. Please refer to the Race page for further details.• Can I have locked character history?

(e.g: Applying to be a cook despite not having any skill or knowledge in cooking)
It is encouraged to have the necessary skill! After all, the kingdom is willing to fund your move, so your character must at least be knowledgeable or familiar with the job. Even if they don’t have the required skill, as long as you can explain why they would still be eligible, we may consider it. But please bear in mind that those with skills will be prioritized (professional or amateur). After all, the job slots are limited!• Can my character be of royal or noble blood?
- Your character is not allowed to have any relations to the Royal Family/Family of the Monarch, nor are they allowed to be of high status. However, your character may come from either a noble family that has fallen from grace or is mid to low rank in terms of nobility. Keep in mind that that they would have to live as a commoner on a mostly uncharted island which is not something nobles of high status would put up with.
- If you wish for your character to be born with a silver spoon, you can consider having them hail from a successful merchant or other rich, non-noble family.

The group is driven by capitalism (stares at a certain Treasurer). How do I survive here? How to be rich?

Far to the northwest of the Etheria Kingdom lies a mystic, forbidden zone in the open sea. For millennia, this part of the ocean was cloaked in a dense, poisonous miasma—corrupting the air above and the waters below. Sailors dared not venture near, for none who crossed its borders ever returned to tell the tale. That is, until only a few years ago, when the mist began to thin.Gradually, the horizon revealed a massive silhouette beyond the fog. News of this phenomenon quickly reached the ears of the King, who ordered a team to investigate what lay hidden within the mist. To their astonishment, they discovered an uncharted island—one absent from any living memory or the oldest historical records. Even more surprising, the miasma had weakened enough to make landing possible. With this revelation, the Kingdom rallied brave and capable individuals to form an expedition. After months of preparation, the team set foot on the island and began their research. While much of the land remained veiled in miasma, the cleared areas proved unexpectedly habitable. Soon, they discovered that the island was brimming with mana—and that the miasma was the result of a disrupted mana flow.Realizing the island's immense potential, the team established a base camp, began clearing forests, collected samples of unknown flora, fought off monsters, and experimented with methods to further dispel the miasma.Five years passed. A larger area along the coast had been purified enough to support the construction of a small town. The expedition team, now convinced of the island's importance, proposed a new phase: full-scale development and deeper exploration. But to purge the island of miasma entirely, they needed more than a dedicated team. They needed settlers—more hands, more minds, and more hearts to bring life to this once-lost land.A proposal was sent to the King, who approved without hesitation. A public campaign began across Etheria to recruit citizens for this grand endeavor: the cultivation of a new land, rich with mana and endless possibilities. They named it Manastrel.Word spread far beyond the kingdom’s borders. And now, this is where you join the story.Did you hear of the recruitment while searching for work? Are you weary of your mundane life and yearning for something new—a challenge, a change, a calling in an unknown place? Or are you simply following someone dear to you: a friend, a lover, or even a parent who joined the campaign?Whatever your reason, if you have the skill and the will, you are welcomed to apply.Manastrel awaits you.

Etheria Kingdom
Etheria is the largest and most influential kingdom in the realm. Originally established by humans, the kingdom has, over the centuries, welcomed members of other races who migrated, assimilated, and earned full citizenship. Today, Etheria stands as a thriving, multicultural kingdom where races coexist in harmony, contributing to its strength, prosperity, and rich cultural tapestry.
Religion | The Kingdom mainly worships Asteria, the Goddess of Perseverance. Although some tribes and areas within the kingdom may have their own religion. | |
Education | Kids under the age of 12 are usually homeschooled by their families. Kids from 12-16 go to a general school, then take apprenticeships for the job they want to pursue in the future. | Each apprenticeship has different requirements and completion period depending on the complexity of the job (e.g.: A healer's apprenticeship will take longer to be completed compared to a baker's apprenticeship). |
Magic | Magic, while existing and being relied on a lot in daily living, is not something that everyone can do. Only those born with an affinity for magic can wield it, which is quite rare to come across. | Even if one was born with the talent, they still need to study and hone their skills, usually under the tutelage of a more experienced witch/wizard. |
Technology | Technology is not very advanced, as people tend to rely on magic. There is no electricity but there’s a lot of magic-imbued furniture, such as: A fridge-like magic box to store food. The more convenient a magical tool is, the more expensive they usually are. | Communication is still mostly done by using letters which can be delivered through birds. Transportation consists mostly of ships and horse-pulled carriages and the most advanced transportation is magical portals. |
Manastrel Island
A vast, mysterious island located in the Northwestern Ocean. For centuries, it was shrouded in a dense miasma — making its existence long lost and forgotten.Only in recent years did the miasma begin to thin, revealing the island’s long-hidden shores. Discovering the island’s immense mana-rich environment, they named it Manastrel, a tribute to its immense magical potential.Five years after the first successful landing, Oak Town was established.
Oak Town
A small settlement on the Southeastern coast of the island. Spanning approximately 100–120 hectares, it currently houses around 50 residents. All places are within walking distance, and a full walk around the town takes roughly two hours.

C | Tavern | The local tavern which also functions as an inn. Most of the citizens stay here temporarily before buying a house. Citizens can check available quest on the Quest Board in front of the building. |
D | Guard House | The living quarters of the Town Guards. It holds detention cells for rowdy drunkards, and the watch tower allows them to oversee the town. |

M | Farm | Fertile farmlands where crops and other produce can be planted and harvested. |
N | Ranch House | A grand house with adjacent pastures for animals. It houses both farmers and ranchers alike. |
O | Workshop | Most craftsmen work here. If the services of carpenters, blacksmiths or tanners are needed, this is the go to place. |

Please be aware that the races' differences are mainly for cosmetics and RP flavors only. Everyone will start with the same stats regardless of gender or race. Furthermore, fighting will not be the main theme for the group. Roleplay wisely and have fun!
Please refrain from making a body completely covered in fur or scales for either beastmen and merfolk. While we have nothing against furries, this is not the group for them. Kindly keep the design at least 80% human.
The population percentage listed in each category refers to kingdom's population, not the world's.
Humans
Humans are the most prevalent race in the world, making up nearly half of the population. Known for their wit and endurance, their balanced traits have helped establishing them as one of the world's leading races. Their adaptability allows them to survive in most environments, making them a jack of all trades.
Skin Color | Normal human skin colors (see the example palette) |
Hair and eyes color | Any are allowed. Maximum of 2 colors for multicolored hair or heterochromia |
Population | 50% |
Lifespan | Average of 80-85 years |
Physical Traits | Balanced brain and brawl. Generally easy for them to gain muscles |
Average Height | Generally between 150-180 cm |
Additional Info | Humans are good at managing and trading, one of the main reasons why their race is flourishing in the world |
Beastman
Beastmen are the second most common race in the world, following after humans. Enhanced by their animal traits, they possess superior physical strength and endurance, making them naturally more resilient than most other races. However, their abilities are closely tied to their specific animal genetics, allowing them to excel in certain environments while being significantly weaker in others. Beastmen only have two categories; land mammals and legged reptiles.
Skin Color | Most colors are allowed and usually match the animal they are based on (see the example palette) |
Hair and eyes color | Any are allowed. Maximum of 2 colors for multicolored hair or heterochromia |
Population | 30% |
Lifespan | Average of 70-80 years |
Physical Traits | They have a pair of animal ears (for land mammals) and horns/protrusions (for reptiles) instead of human ears. They also have tails. Reptile beastmen usually have a moderate amount of scales on their skin. The remaining 80% of the body is still mostly human. |
Average Height | Generally between 150-210 cm (shorter people need to be based on small animals) |
Additional Info | Depending on their animal traits, they will be weak to certain environments (e.g.: Reptiles mostly can't stand cold environment, etc). Since they’re still mostly human, their diet is also similar, but each individual may have their own preferences. |
Elf
Elves are one of the oldest and proudest races in the world, with a history that is both ancient and extensively recorded. Their deep knowledge and wisdom set them apart, and they take great pride in their affinity with nature. Most elves choose to reside within their own secluded realms, primarily in vast forests, while only a few venture beyond their homeland to live among other races.
Skin Color | There are two types of elf tribes, Sylvan and Drow. Sylvans generally have warmer skin tones, while Drows have colder skin tones (see the example palette). Note that unlike DnD Drows who are generally evil, the Drows here are simply an elf tribe with different skin tones. |
Hair and eyes color | Any are allowed. Maximum of 2 colors for multicolored hair or heterochromia |
Population | 10% |
Lifespan | Up to 200 years old. They age like humans starting from birth until they are around 18-21 years old. Afterwards they age 2x slower than humans (example: An elf in their 40s would look like a human in their 20s) |
Physical Traits | Pointy ears and a slender body type, they struggle to develop muscles. Long hair. |
Average Adult Height | Generally between 170-190 cm |
Additional Info | They usually cherish their long hair, therefore most elves will be seen with longer hair than other races, regardless of gender. Elves have a green thumb, hence they are good at tending to plants and are knowledgeable about nature. |
Merfolk
Close to beastmen in population, merfolk are among the most prominent races after humans. However, up until a thousand years ago, most of them resided exclusively underwater. It was only after that a handful chose to live on land and mingle with other races. Merfolk have the unique ability to shift between a fishtail and human legs as needed, making them able to live both on land and underwater.
Skin Color | Most colors are allowed and usually matches the animal they are based on (see the example palette) |
Hair and eyes color | Any are allowed. Maximum of 2 colors for multicolored hair or heterochromia |
Population | 10% |
Lifespan | Average of 80-85 years |
Physical Traits | They have a pair of fins instead of human ears, gills on the neck, and moderate amount of fish scales across body regardless the form. Dorsal fins on their lower arms are optional. The water version will have a fishtail instead of human legs starting from the lower stomach |
Average Adult Height | Generally between 160-190 cm for the land version and up to 210 cm for the water version (including the fishtail) |
Additional Info | They have to return to water or hydrate themselves at least once a day to survive. Both freshwater and saltwater merfolk can swim/live in any body of water just fine. Merfolks are generally weak with warm or hot temperatures |

Your character can only be one of the races from Races. A child from mixed parents will follow either of the parents' race.
If you pick merfolk, you will need to provide at least a colored clean sketch of the water form. Please link this in your written app.
Your character's age should range between 18-60 years old (or the equivalent in elf years).
You may only choose from the listed available jobs. Please write your first and second choice in the written app later (this is not obligatory).
Your character must be drawn in their working attire based on the job they apply to. For Guards, Healers, and Nurses, they will need to include certain accessories for uniformity. Guards will need to put on a badge on their collar, while Healers and Nurses will need to wear armband on the right arm.
Since the characters need to wear appropriate attire, your second choice must be in similar field of your first choice. For example, your first choice is Healer and your second choice is Nurse. Don't worry, we will allow small alterations/adjustment if you make it to the group.
Disabilities are allowed as long as the affected character has appropriate tools to assist them. Feel free to make up fantasy magical tools for your character and send the mods a ticket in case you are unsure in terms of the idea or the design. Please remember that the story focuses on exploration, expedition, and working to build a settlement; hence keep your character's design suitable for the task and your chosen job.
